Last spring AJ’s Spots Bar had a Paint Party to promote Smirnoff vodka. The party had a great turn out but people left disappointed. It was catered to the young college crowd. AJ's had free Smirnoff, food, and paint. You had to RSVP and if your name was not on the list you could not drink for free. Unfortunately no one knew or read the fine print of the details of the party.
There was a stipulation with the drinks. Partygoers received tickets for complimentary Smirnoff Drinks. They only gave out two free drink tickets per person. The people who came were not pleased. People thought the drinks were free all night and were let down.
Smirnoff showed great creativity by having a paint party. At a paint party you take off your shoes and socks, put paint on your feet and go dance on a floor canvas. At the end of the night everyone can see what they collectively created. I believe the new experience of foot painting is what drove most of the students to the party.
The Absolut Exhibit: the release of ABSOLUT TALLAHASSEE will definitely use complimentary drinks. Free drinks along with the paint is what got the people in the door of the Smirnoff party. My party will have complimentary drinks the entire night. Also my special event will have creative amenities such as free taxi service, Jay-Z is performing, and great food. We will not have paint because it is tailored for an older crowd but the amenities will be memorable and something Tallahassee has never seen.
